Mathematical approach to model rapidly elongated free-burning arcs in air in electric power circuits

چکیده
A two-terminal equivalent model of rapidly elongated freeburning arcs in air is presented that is designed to be used in systematic simulations of both existing and new switching concepts of circuit breakers in electric power circuits. The proposed model is based on the combination of a Mayr-type and a Cassie-type differential equation. These are modified in order to take into account the influence of the elongation of the arc on the power balance of the arc as well as the voltage drop near the electrodes. Comparisons are made of experiments and simulations carried out in a current-commutation circuit using currents of about 1 kA and arc voltages of about 100 V. The simulation results are in good agreement with the measured current and voltage traces.

Differential global surface impedance (DGSI) model, a rigorous approach, has been applied to the analysis of three dimensional plasmonic circuits. This model gives a global relation between the tangential electric field and the equivalent surface electric current on the boundary of an object. This approach helps one bring the unknowns to the boundary surface of an object and so avoid volumetric...

The Markov random field (MRF) theory has been accepted as a highly effective framework for designing noise-tolerant nanometer digital VLSI circuits. In MRF-based design, proper feedback lines are used to control noise and keep the circuits in their valid states. However, this methodology has encountered two major problems that have limited the application of highly noise immune MRF-based circui...
